Bio

Born and raised in Michigan, Dave decided to do his undergrad and Masters work in Ohio, risking life and limb since he is a University of Michigan fan. At Denison University he delved into multiple fields, earning a B.A. in Philosophy, Economics, and Political Science, a minor in Religion, and doing Astronomy research on the side. At Miami University in Ohio, he received his Masters in Economics with a thesis constructing a mathematical model for why people start and contribute to not-for-profits and was an active participant with the Entrepreneurial Lab.

Dave's interests continue to be diverse. He enjoys playing the piano (and has even composed a half-hour, 4-movement piece!). He is equally happy reading books ranging from science to history to comic books, or playing video games (especially Dance Dance Revolution) with his friends, or debating philosophy, definitions of terms, scientific theory, or most anything else with anyone who is willing. He currently works part-time for NASA, teaches the how to take the GMAT and GRE for Kaplan (an received a Teacher of the Year Award this year), and is busily planning several international trips for this summer. All of these interests lead him to George Washington University where he explores the intersection of interests with values, organizational behaviors, and entrepreneurial intent.

Current Research

Dave is in his first year at George Washington University, so he is still exploring how he wants to study Entrepreneurship and Organizational Behavior. Currently, Dave is examining the effect of gaming theory and technology on individual's proclivities towards entrepreneurialism and their impacts on organizational behaviors. He also plans to examine the differences in values and personality styles among varous demographic groups to see if exposure to popular media significantly impacts the formation of businesses and group dynamics.

As a graduate student for the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence <www.cfee.org>, Dave is working with Dr. George Solomon on a paper examining the effects of age on entrepreneur's desire for training their managers. The abstract proposal has been submitted to the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) and he hopes to present in June. Dave is also working with Dr. Ayman Tarabishy from 3E-Learning <www.3e-learning.org>, which focuses on experiential entrepreneurship education. They are coordinating a contest seeking innovative methods for teaching entrepreneurship and small business development to students in high school to graduate school.
